List of Trademarks with a Reputation

The List of Trademarks with a Reputation contains trademarks applied for and admitted to the list. Trademarks with a reputation in Finland, as defined in the Finnish Trademarks Act, are entered into the list on application (sections 5 and 13 of the Trademarks Act).

To avoid trademark disputes, you should check the list when conducting novelty searches and examining the risk of confusion between trademarks, because the list may also contain marks that are not included in the Trademark Information Service. In addition, the marks admitted to the list usually enjoy protection across the trademark classes.

Search instructions and contents of the information service

The information service for trademarks with a reputation includes well-known trademarks applied for and admitted to the list. Trademarks with a reputation in Finland under the Finnish Trademarks Act are entered into the list on application.

Click on “SEARCH" to retrieve a list of all marks admitted to or pending admission to the list. Alternatively, you can search by words in the mark, by the holder’s name or by mark number.

The list of search results indicates the current processing status of each mark. If the mark has a defined target group, it is indicated too. Click on the mark’s number to get more details about the mark.

The details of pending marks may be specified during the processing. Such details include the target group, the goods or services in respect of which the mark has acquired a reputation, the description of the mark and the description of colour.

The target group and the goods or services in respect of which the mark has acquired a reputation are indicated only if the trademark has a defined target group.
