Increased number of requests for prohibition of registration – processing time around three days
The Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) is receiving more requests for the prohibition of registration than usual due to a data breach in the City of Helsinki. The number of prohibitions of registration has increased substantially over a short period. At present, we are receiving thousands of prohibitions of registration per day rather than dozens.
As the number of prohibition requests has climbed sharply, processing will take longer than normal. It will take approximately three days for a prohibition of registration to take effect.
In the last few days, we have made processing more efficient. We can now process around 1,000 prohibition requests per day.
What is a prohibition of registration?
A prohibition of registration means that a person cannot be registered as a person responsible for a company or an organisation in the PRH’s registers, such as the Finnish Trade Register.
Please note that a prohibition of registration will not remove your earlier registered role details from the PRH’s registers, such as the Finnish Trade Register or the Finnish Register of Associations.Read our instructions at prh.fi on how to file a prohibition of registration.
Use the Suomi.fi service to check your current role details in the Finnish Trade Register. This shows whether you are registered as a person responsible for a company in the Finnish Trade Register. Use your personal internet banking codes, a mobile certificate or an electronic identity card to log into the service. Go to the service at Suomi.fi.Open link in a new tab
